I used to do Physics problems in my head faster than the Engineers I worked with could do them on their computers. I could take into account the weight of a specific grade of crude oil, the elevation above sea level of a point on a pipeline and the distance to or from a pipeline pumping station and tell you the psi of the oil at that point.
I was usually only off by about 2%. This drove them nuts, so I quit telling them when I was doing it.
