[SIGPIC] Diesel loving autocrossing grandpa Architect. 08 Dodge 3/4 ton with Cummins & six speed; I have had about 35 benzes. I have a 39 Studebaker Coupe Express pickup in which I have had installed a 617 turbo and a five speed manual.[SIGPIC]

..I also have a 427 Cobra replica with an aluminum chassis.

I'm not up on groupsets any more - is that what the new Shimano stuff looks like?

Nope. This was one of the innovators behind the "mountain bike" idea:

Actually the bike is about 20 years old. I purchased the frameset at Sloughs bike shop in San Jose CA around 1992 or 1993. The Shimano shifters and derailleurs are from the same time period. After about 20 years and 6 or 7 thousand miles it still works just like it did when it was new. The only thing that's been replaced is the chain.

Wow - that just shows what a short time I was mountain biking!

I like the look of the crank - is that old school Shimano?
