NYPD cooperating with CIA

... in a COINTELPRO-like program.

Pretty sick stuff. Just a tad worse than marines conducting checkpoints or sonic weapons during G20 on peaceful protestors or anyone caught within 20 blocks. Next I bet they'll be conducting cavity searches at airports... Don't you know what freedom is?

In other words you are admitting that the 'War on Terror' military adventure's in Afghanistan/Iraq are failures.

Of all people, I would have thought that you are smarter than to get suckered by the U.S. Government.

Time for some budget cuts. To much policing, only a matter of time before they can just drag you away to camps.

Yeah, but police, prisons, and the military are the three sacred piglets of US politics. I actually don't have a problem with intelligence gathering in and of itself, but I do agree that NYC is overpoliced in other ways.

When 9/11 first happened I told several close friends that everyone is now a suspect and on the 'watch list'. They are using Census data to develop 'potential terrorist profiles' to see who they need to watch. During WWII they used Census data to round up the Japanese and place them in camps.

Their investigations involves phone taps, staking out your home and work place, snooping into your finances and more. One of my friends said he thought the U.S. would show the former Soviet Union and Nazi Germany how to really beat up on people. I'm afraid his prophecy is coming true....

confirmed: Census gave up names of Japanese americans during WWII....whose PII (personal identifiable information) will they give up next????

http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=confirmed-the-us-census-b

Notice in the OP it says that NYPD is using Census data to develop their profiles......

Once again. If we didn't have a bunch of criminals running this country like a country club for fascists and pirates we wouldn't be a target for all of this hate.

Elections are not going to fix this. If elections could fix this the elections would have to change, again, some more. I am afraid if you try to fix this you will be labeled a terrorist. JFK, RFK, MLK, insert long list here

Untrue.

Islamaphobia is no longer questioned-even by our elected representitives.
there would appear to be an Islamophobia industry engaged in what Max Blumen calls a 'Great Islamophobic Crusade'

In regards to the production of 'Relentless', 'Obsession: Radical Islam's war on the West', and 'The Third Jihad', Tam has published this article and Richard Silverstein has discussed the Anti-Muslim propaganda, and the money trail between groups like the 'Christian Coaltion - 700 Club etc...

The Islamophobic research and Documentation Project at the Center for Race and Gender has the best working definition.

The term 'Islamophobia' was first introduced as a concept in a 1991 Runnymeade Trust Report and defined as "unfounded hostility towards Muslims, and therefore fear or dislike of all Muslims.

The term was coined in the context of Muslims in the U.K in particular and Europe in general, and formulated based upon the more common 'Xenophobia' framework.

The report pointed to prevailing attitudes that incorperate the following beliefs;

* Islam is monolithic and cannot adapt to new realitys.
* Islam does not share common values with other faiths.
* Islam as a religion is inferior to the West. It is archiac, barbaric and irrational.
* Islam is a religion of violence and supports terrorism.
* Islam is a violent political ideoligy.

Islamophobia is a contrived fear or prejudice formulated by the existing Eurocentric and Orientalist global power structure.
It is directed at a percieved or real Muslim threat though the maintenance and existing disparities in economic, political, social and cultural relations, while rationalising the necessity to deploy violence as a tool to achieve 'civilizational rehab' of the target communitys (Muslim or otherwise).

Islamophobia reintroduces and reafirms a global racial structure through which resource distribution disparities are maintained and extended.

*This was 1991.

Your comment= Fail.

I doubt that. I don't know why they hate us, but our religious freedom seems like an unlikely reason to me. I think it has more to do with what they perceive to be our greedy and violent imperialism and what they perceive to be our intolerance of their religion.

I thought that was more about religious intolerance, but I don't know.
