Might Warren Buffet have an Agenda?

.

Mr Buffett expressed discontent with the current tax policy.

He forgets more in one minute about economics than I'll know in my lifetime so I can't question much that he says.

"James Altucher of Formula Capital says Buffett's reasons aren't as altruistic as one might imagine."

He points out that Buffett has $50 Billion in assets and often his biggest challenge is that he is restricted in being able to sell such a large volume of assets because it distorts the market. This means that smaller investor have an advantage over him because it is easier for them to sell.

So Warren's suggestion to increase capital gains would reduce the advantage smaller investors have compared to Mr. Buffett's $50B nest egg.

Here's a link - Buffett has a "Hidden Agenda"...

The video is the most interesting part.

Here's a image of what may be occurring with the world's economy --

Just go by the simple principle that NILIF and you have less problems. All the discomfort or suffering we do or even regular actions have a reason. There was not, is not and probably will not ever be a case of a free lunch. There is always a catch.

Even with my wife of 20+ years, it is a give AND take thing. If one party or the other stopped giving, would the other party go on giving?

So its OK to post a thread where Warren Buffet is used to further a leftist agenda, but its not OK to post a rebuttal that puts Buffet's other comments in some sort of context?
Every political thread here could be called trolling------if you disagree with the OP.

They aren't?

Not merely political, but various social and philosophical topics as well.

It's not too late to merge this thread with one already in progress.

The really sad thing is that you consider it moderate.
Arguing these terms is like pushing a spoon thru marshmallow. Lots of effort with little tangible results.

Left. right, and center are all relative terms. Today's spectrum would have JFK on the extreme right--"A rising tide raises all boats"

wrong again, sherlock.

On 17th January, 1963, President Kennedy presented his proposals for tax reform. This included relieving the tax burdens of low-income and elderly citizens. Kennedy also claimed he wanted to remove special privileges and loopholes. He even said he wanted to do away with the oil depletion allowance. It is estimated that the proposed removal of the oil depletion allowance would result in a loss of around $300 million a year to Texas oilmen.

Historically speaking, though, how can Buffett's comments be considered anything but moderate? Moderate doesn't necessarily mean good or bad, but the word has to mean something. Do you really think that he is a leftist?

The initial commentary by James Altucher and everything I have said on this thread was strictly about economics.

Nothing political, nothing social, no morals -

Just; maybe Warren has an agenda different than what he states.

He did make billions. Probably developed some skills at subterfuge, misdirection, etc.

Not one respondent has addressed the initial post or Altucher's comments.

It seems easier to express you derision towards me than form and express a thought in response to the ONLY thing I said.

Everybody is biased except me. Everybody is stupid or duped except me. Everybody except me has a hidden agenda. I am the greatest!

I was just responding to MSFowler's use of the word "leftist." I don't really know anything about Buffett's agenda.
