If you plan to hold on to the car and drive it to the ground then no problem. They are tough to sell and banks don't loan on them.

Based on the picture you posted of the car, it is not equipped with the headlamp washers... There would be trapezoidal cut outs in between the lights that protrude when in action-- very James Bond ish. Does it have the button on the console?? Maybe they replaced the bumper with the wrong unit...

I just noticed the pic. Those projector lights are aftermarket so it's likely that it took a hit in the front.

reasons to avoid it include inherent rust problems with this series, even more liekly to occur after repaired damage, the spring perch problem and lower build quality

I went instead for a clean title last year of build Calif/New Mexico car exactly one month ago, a 1995 E 420 and I love it.got it exafdctly a montyh ago today.

Only 42995 too !

Just $2995 and it runs bgeautiful

NOW way woulde I go for a W210 efven a clean title one.

I wqopuld run away from the car you are looking at.a

Jim and alabbasi,
You guys must not be looking at what has been written too closely. I already stated the damage was to the front and the headlights are aftermarket looking.

I also know a bit about the w210 (look at my sig).

Jim-
I'm glad you like the 124 but personally I like the 210 stylings much more. Also the spring perch issues were mainly with the non 4matic models. I've already stated this carvhas no rust and it has been a MN car its entire life. My wagon has been a rust belt car. It has about 60k more miles, and the only rust is on the rear hatch.

So in other words I know the pos and neg about these cars in general. I just wanted opinions on the salvage title.

Yes, that is exactly what is going on. I mentioned that to my wife last night. I have the washers on my wagon.

Here's my $0.02 after seeing the rest of the details. If the fix was 100% "proper", then the repair should have used OEM parts or at least that quality replacement. The headlights could have easily been upgraded by someone after the accident, but either way you can't be positive of that unlss you had receipts. To me, seeing a car having been repaired with non-OEM-quality parts indicates a repair where someone was desperately trying to cut corners rather than make the car like new again. I'd look elsewhere since there are a lot of w210s on the market (at least around here).
