GWB

Did not have an Effective Cabinet and Handlers.

Rowe and Cheney took turns with their digits so far up GWB's nether regions,
that when their fingers moved Bush appeared to speak.

Were they member of the cabinet or staff?
What is the staff's and cabinet's job?

That term feels creepy.
I grew up during the Cold War.
"Russia" had czars. we had elected representative and their staffs.
I can't help but feel that the use of that term by the administration is another indication that they are politically tone deaf.
They could have called them almost anything else and it would not have conjured up the negative images that the word "czars" does.

Does the administration use the term? I could be wrong, but I think you are more likely to hear it from the media than from the administration.

Critics like to use the term because it sounds so bad and implies that the administration is exercising power in secret or without Congressional approval. That attack was nonsense during W's administration and it still is nonsense, IMHO.

According to Wikipedia, so-called "czars" have been used at least as far back as FDR. Again, according to Wikipedia, the practice really took off under W. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U.S._executive_branch_czars

It is a non-issue, IMHO.

Reagan, Clinton, Bush II -- success.
Hey Botnst: How can you put Bush ll in the same category as Clinton. IMO Bush ll will go down as the worst Pres. in history. BTW: It's obvious you are a Repo.

Repo, that's a good word for repubs. Under Repo leadership, everything you've worked hard for will be Repode.

And in case nobody noticed, Obama is a socialist, and socialism has ALWAYS failed, so comparing Barry's incompetence to the governor of any state is stupid.
Are you one of them fellers who spent $50K a year going to college at Harvard or Oxford and can't brook those socialists who studied at taxpayer supported state universities?

I defined "success" as serving 2 terms.

Reading comprehension: A Beautiful thing.

If you have another metric that can be used to compare all presidents, by all means have at it. Show us whatcha got, big-boy.

Somehow W's success falls flat. I was amazed that he won either time, except when I looked at his opponents.

Both Bush and Obama received a large amount of irrational enthusiasm from the public, at election time anyway. I believe Obama has some talent but his campaign fervor ("this was the day the oceans stopped rising") and the way the public went all rock star groupies on his ass were a bit much.

Idiocracy is upon us.

How about ratting a president by how many BIG mistakes he makes in just one term. Like killing thousands of our military and innocent civilians.
OPPS wrong country. My bad!

Hmmmm...

Grew up in the Cold War, thinks the term "czar" is creepy, seems to prefer an 'elected representative' and staff from the same Party.

Since the US supported the Czarist forces against the Bolsheviks in the Russian Civil War, I think "czar" has a fine pedigree. In fact, the Czar was our ally in WW I. The Soviets turned away from the west since the west supported the White forces.

If these conjure up negative images, are you sure you're not a Communist?
