The current director of the National Institutes of Health for President Obama is Francis Colins.

Collins is brilliant, but what does that have to do with his faith?

We have seen many people who are bright one way but still do other stupid things so if you are seeking validation by IQ, you might be disappointed. I would say there are many bright people who existed BEFORE today. Just because they had a superstitious nature and believed in some deity doesn't validate the deity be it christianity, islam, jehova witnesses, etc, etc.
