No on-site inspection was necessary. After i get the credit reports on the candidates, I treat it like gold - that is, I protect it with all possible sources. Think I wrote about this before - I use a strong encryption scheme to keep the report copies locked in a digital safe, so I can access it if need be and still have adequate protection over them.... I recommend you do something similar. It is up to you to protect this data - I believe the law requires it. These days most applicants we see have had a sketchy credit history - look for instances where they have walked away from financial obligations (even small amounts) - this should give you a cross section of the financial responsibility of the individual. One more thing - if you turn down the applicant for the reason on a poor Credit report, there are some laws that apply (at least here in CO) - I believe you have to let them know in writing and give them a copy of that report which you used to eliminate them so they can correct it (if they can). Good luck - James
