Bearing buddy question

Got a new boat delivered today. The bearing buddies had been flinging out grease onto the tire during the delivery drive. Anyone know how to stop bearing buddies from outgreasing like this?

Too much grease or too low temp point of a grease?

Are they new? As they get older the seals start to break down and the grease seeps out around the edge, especially when hot. They do sell caps that will at least contain it (or if you're cheap like me just use the plastic caps off the end of the full size tubes of bearing grease).

I can't believe that your local farming store doesn't have them.

Still, I wouldn't get a bra alone. When one of mine started to leak and fling grease, I yanked both and redid it.

The seals are shot, if your just going around town ignore it. My boat trailer did it for 10 years.

There is a relief hole that will let grease out if there is too much. Once the spring pushes the disc past this little hole then it doesn't leak anymore from that hole. So maybe that was the problem but maybe not. Depends where it was leaking from.

You can buy seal rebuild kits for them no? Should be cheap.
