Haven't owned a shoal draft beachcruiser before. It arrived today from Michigan.

Nice! This year the kid sailed a Windrider all summer. He sure had lots of fun.

Trailer-Able!

Will the Cuba Libres come with those Parasols?

Please don't forget to show us how she looks all rigged out (Under Way).

OOH! an Auxiliary Too (No Paddling for You-ski).

One of my fondest memories of Summer is one spent on a 16Ft. Hobie Cat.
[BUT, That was like a Surfboard compared to your New Toy.]

Sweet looking trimaran! And ditto Compress' comments, we need some pics of it rigged and underway!

Beach cruising...yum!

Several years ago there was an article in Wooden Boat about a guy that had built a nice beach cruiser. Was it a called Gull? Can't remember...anyway, he cruised all along the gulf coast and out to the Chandeuleur Islands and wrote some about it. Neat stuff.

The thing that captivated me about his boat (and yours) is that you could pull it behind a relatively small vehicle.

I just figured he sat in the backyard with his captain's hat on and someone would spray him with a hose?

Took it out to the local reservoir today--about 10 miles away. However, didn't get any sailing in. The outboard wasn't pumping water and I wasn't comfortable just sailing it for the first time with zillions of powerboats around everywhere. Anyone troubleshoot a Honda 4 cycle 2 horse that won't pump water?

Probably the impeller. They only last a year or two before the rubber starts to break down and don't move the amount of water they should. I've never worked on a Honda but with OMC and Mercury/Mariner smaller outboards you can get to the impeller (which is driven off the shaft) by dropping the lower unit with 3 or 4 bolts. Check to make sure there aren't any blockages in the water tube that draws the water up from the impeller.

Could be nothing more than a bug nest built in the pisser outlet on the motor. Take a small drill or rod and poke up in the pisser to see if it's clear of obstructions. Otherwise, if that motor sat for a long time, the rubber of the pump impeller could have fused to the inside of the pump housing. If that's the case, running it probably destroyed the impeller and it will need to be replaced.

Not a difficult job to replace the impeller. Running rivers and creeks with my 30hp Yamaha I'd get in enough mud and grit that I'd do the impeller every year as part of the preseason maintenance. Took 30-40 minutes.

Find a Clymers or Haynes on that motor and you'll be in pretty good shape. Make sure to fish out all the bits of the old one before bolting it all back together.

Yep. Pulled the lower unit and it has a bad impeller. Now I just have to figure out how to get if off the shaft. Shaft seems attached at the prop gear end. Do you usually have to pull the prop and gear to get the drive shaft up to get the impeller off?

Looks like there might be an E-ring holding the drive shaft to the pinion gear at the prop gear and the drive shaft won't slide up and off the impeller without removing the prop, shaft and e-ring. Does that sound about right?

Mine definitely has a water pump and the motor pictured in the link you posted appears to have water inlet holes in the lower unit. The engine is air cooled but the drive mechanism is water cooled I think. Mine is an older model. From the 80's I think. BF20.
