We're about 60mi northwest of Brenham.

SWMBO read that about 1/2 of Bastrop State Park (Lost Pines) was burned or damaged by the fire.

Depending on how hot the fire was, the trees may have survived as pines generally have a higher tolerance for fires than your post oaks and such.

I'd speculate that post oaks have no tolerance for anything. A guy I once did some dozing for claimed all you had to do was shout 'civilization' next to one and it would fall over dead.
