ingeniously Stupid

A North Carolina lawyer once took out an insurance policy for a box of expensive cigars to protect them in case of a fire. After consuming the box, he filed a claim stating the cigars had been lost in a series of small fires (read: he smoked them) and was awarded $15,000. Shortly after, his insurance company had him arrested for 24 counts of arson, using his own insurance policy as evidence. He was sentenced to two years in jail and a $24,000 fine.

An insurance company had a man loose $24,000 and spend 2 years of his life in jail for smoking a box of cigars.

^ Now THAT is stupid.

And some Americans wonder why the rest of the world looks upon them and laugh.

He does, which forces him to temper his expression of anti-American mirth down to an occasional snicker.

Plenty to laugh about around the world. I'd go to Singapore and laugh about it, but I think that's illegal there...

Just because you happen to be born into a country by some accident, doesn't mean you have to love it.

My comment was not directed to anyone specifically (Some Americans)..and from that you feel it nessacary to attack me personally.

Your opinion has been clearly articulated. However additional comments will not contribute to an honest and fruitfull discussion.

Another great wisdom nugget from the person who will soon leave the USA for the great greener pastures of some other country to yet be named or found. Please stay, we really need more of your guiding quotes.

Golly, and I thought that holding a blue passport was a nasty insult!

Please tell me what opinion to which you are referring to that is so clear in your mind. That ought to be easy since it is so clear to you.
