A Career in Painting compliments of ebay

I never thought it possible but this guy seems to be doing it.

Current bid on this particular item is $22.00

The description:

Robocop with breasts represents our post-911 DHS society; reanimated from our economically decimated national Detroit, an impersonal conglomeration of technological and human elements. When we scroll down the page we are confronted finally with the seductive aspect of our super-creation. Do we consider these unreal, artificial appearing breasts to be attractive? Robocop seems to be trying much too hard to convince us that he/she/it is more human than machine. Behind our highly desired security apparatus, 9-11 happens without end. Our defender does not look at the tragedy but at us. The promised sequel does not happen; the original feature is remarketed over and over again.

According to his ebay feedback he's done everything from Casey Anthony's nude breasts, to Amy Weinhouse, to Michael J. Fox with a pancake on his head, to a naked Obama with a unicorn, Betty White with hot pies for breasts, and much more.

This has netted him over a grand in the last month on ebay alone.

Brilliant.

-----------------------

I wish I'd thought of this.

Princess Beatrice Fascinator

Capture the 'royal style' in this suave paper hat guaranteed to amaze strangers and send rivals into fits of jealous rage. Mailed flat; does not include half of a woman's head as depicted. Hand-constructed and ready to flaunt. Comes with a generous length of ribbon which attaches fabulousness to head as pictured. Waggles a bit when you strut.

I think he captured Paula Dean's essence the best.

Wait, I've found the best one. Hudson Miracle Obama:

Good article on him.

http://www.citypages.com/2009-04-29/news/dan-lacey-s-bizarre-pancake-paintings-land-him-fame-beyond-gawker/

"He places the booty painting down gently and picks up an unfinished painting of Rush Limbaugh as Jabba the Hutt eating Sarah Palin in a Princess Leia outfit while Michael Steele as C3PO pisses himself in horror. The painting is the first in a series of 10 dreamed up by Gawker readers. One will feature Hoda Kotb maple-syrup-wresting Kathy Lee on top of a giant pancake."

He's definitely caught her maternal, nurturing side...

Ok, I was able to hold it together as I espied the Mt. Rushmore reference and the image of Sully, but when I noticed the birds nesting in the engine nacelles, I about pissed myself.

Just as long as he doesn't paint a nude of Michelle Obama and her big behind.

I can't help myself. Email:

Hello Dan,

Are you capable of making prints of any of your past work? I'd be interested in purchasing Hudson Miracle Obama for myself and Fallout Unicorn Obama. For gifts I'd like to purchase a solo Conan themed print and 2 copies of Rush Limbaugh as Jabba eating Sarah Palin.

Let me know if this is possible. Many thanks,

Tyler Hoover.

With apologies to Will Rogers ( I think it was his quote).
"No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American people."
I'd substitute the word " artistic taste" for "intelligence".
