Will this name be remembered along with terms like:

Watergate
Iran Contra
Monica Lewinski

Dunno. Does the Solyndra matter involve burglary, illegal arms trading, or lying to a grand jury? If not, then I think it will be forgotten by 70% of us. The 30% who still think that Dick Cheney was a great VP will probably remember it.

It'll be interesting to hear what the principals have to say to congress next week. There might be an ethical issue involved, but I don't foresee this being the scandal that many would like it to be.

Normally most things are forgotten in 1 generation. In 10 years from now the young stock market traders will have no idea about the global economic problems of recent times. Same for Solyndra. We just keep reinventing the wheel.

So a government insured loan went bad. So what?

The solyndra loan to a company hoping to provide a reasonable alternative to petroleum. The petroleum companies enjoy some pretty sweet handouts courtesy of our government, I understand and they are making billions.

I am also a lot more upset about all the sweet, no competitive bids, cost plus contracts that went to Haliburton in the middle east wars. (Cheney's company).
