Name a food that you hated as a kid...

But like as an adult.

For me it was sausage and cabbage, as an adult I love to eat it.

Broccoli, I absolutely love it now but would never want to eat it as a kid.

I despised green beans as a kid, but other than that was always good about eating my greens.

The stuff I cannot and will not touch to this day is anything out of the ocean. It makes me gag just thinking about it. Who in their right mind would grab a lobster out of the ocean and say, " Oh, this looks tasty. Let's boil it and eat 'er up!"?

None come to mind. About the only thing I remember not liking as a kid was gooseberry pie.

As an adult I have found many things that I don't care for.

I'm with you on the lobster thing, but I do like catfish, especially the way my friend Clayton makes it.

I learned to like spinach & brocolli.

Only a few things I still won't eat. Fungus and guts for example.

In my parents house I told them if they cook liver I will stop coming buy and cooking their meals. You can smell that stuff days later. Why would someone eat some thing that is basicaly a filter for your health.

Liver, thrown on a very hot grill for just a couple minutes on each side. Nicely seared and still very pink in the middle. Sauteed bacon, sweet onions and green chiles on top. Perfect, and very healthy. Liver doesn't stink if you don't overcook it.

Having said that, I'd sooner lick the bottom of one of my boots fresh out of the pasture than that poisonous goop they sell in the grocery store as liver.

I wasn't allowed to not like anything as a kid, and neither were my kids. We ate what we were fed, period. Picky kids really annoy me, it's their parents' fault pretty much every time.

Once I got older and was able to make my own decisions, there are a few things I won't eat. Beets, MiracleWhip, spray can "cheese" and soggy white bread. That's about it.
