F**k EBAY

Went to purchase a windup Pluto toy. Was denied purchase because I am not a Pay Pal member. I have bought $40k cars and have a 100% rateing. I guess they don't want my money.

Not that I am defending Ebay but isn't that more the sellers fault than Ebay?

X2

How were you going to pay for it?
If the seller is only accepting paypal you cant do much. I prefer paypal to a direct payment to a bank account as you have a small amount of protection.

Isn't Paypal the only form of payment accepted by ebay now? I can't find a seller that accepts anything else. Even those that would take a CC have disappeared.

Ebay wants those Paypal fees.............

No idea. I have only bought 5 items on Ebay and I use Pay Pal since it is convenient and allows me to use my credit card to pay.

I buy quite a bit on there. Some values are not available elsewhere.

I'm OK with Paypal with one slight problem.

I'm within two hundred of their "spending limit"..........without verification.

NFW they get my bank account.............

They state that they need verification with a bank account for "security" purposes. However, if you accept one of their credit cards, obtained without any personal info, they will lift the spending limit.

Dishonest beyond the pale.............

I got the credit card, cut it up, and put it in a drawer.

You cannot use Paypal unless you're a registered member with a proper account.

If the seller only accepts Paypal (virtually all of them), your options are limited.

If you want to F**K ebay I'm sure they'll charge you for it - and you'll probably need paypal for that! Viscous circle.

Thats not only reason why ebay sucks to deal with now. Seller protection is gone, you cannot give negative feedback to buyers as well.

Also, half.com which is part of ebay is a pita to get money from. I sell text books every semester on half.com and they pay your money out twice a month, and it takes 5-6 "business" days for it to transfer to your paypal(which then it takes an additional 2-3 "business" days) to hit your account or go directly to your bank account if you set it up that way.

I hate it

They sent me an email a few days ago asking if I wanted to sell a book I bought from them about 10 years ago... I don't know if it is worthwhile for you though - but I'm not going to bother.
