New to me 85 300D from Tyler

Wanted to drop in and give an update on the 85 300D I purchased from Tyler. He has various threads about where he got the car and his brief ownership.

First off id like to say what a pleasure it was to purchase the car from Tyler, he not only did a good job describing the car he bent over backwards to make sure it was ready and prepared for my trip including a full tank of gas. The car made it back without issue the 1300 miles back to Texas.

I took the car on Friday to my indy who was shocked/impressed with its condition. He did the following

Buffed / Compounded the paint which turned out to have a nice original patina which I plan on leaving alone.

Replaced the rear bumper strip that was missing. Replaced the lower ball joints , replaced both rear axels & and flex disc ( included ) . Flushed the power steering, flushed a clogged turbo waste line. Adjusted the throttle linkage and steam cleaned engine. Adjusted the alda, Oiled the hood hinges and sunroof, refinished the wheels, painted the lower body area ( where the jack points are *black ) and painted the rear trunk liner sides ( black ). New coolant tank cap, new hazard switch.

He did various other things that I forgot to mention but he told me when he was finished that the car is in perfect mechanical condition.

To do list which should be complete by Wednesday of this week
New headlight doors
New OEM floor mats
The vacuum locks need some troubleshooting
Tires balanced and front end alignment ( around 75 there is some light play in the steering and vibration ).
I have a slight chirp from the accessory belt which my mechanic tightened but at idle it still does it. Any ideas here?

I must say this is the nicest 123 I have ever driven, you don’t even feel the car shifting gears and is a pleasure to drive. The interior is like a time capsule and I have no idea how it has held up so well. Also the power on this car is also something I have never experienced , it spools and pulls very hard, it has the coldest A/C my mechanic said he has ever seen in a 123 and was curious how it performs so well.

I love the car and plan to keep it for ages. When everything is complete I will post some photos but here are a few I took this morning when I drove it to the office.

104,5XX miles and counting .

The cruise control worked all day one of the days back and now is not working , not sure how to trouble shoot it but it is not a huge priority for me right now.

If I was ever in the market for a used car, I would definitely work through Tyler. He has a gift for finding fantastic cars.

Sounds like it's a safe bet if you buy a car from any Peach Parts Tyler. :)
