So my thread has been erased

Could someone tell me at what point it was decided to take it down?
Was it because the title 'Sexual Deviants' drew protest?
Or something else altogether?

Is that a common occurrence for an OD thread to just disappear or is this new management protocol?

I don't know which is why I ask.

Threads have been known to disappear from time to time. If a mod deletes one they will usually offer a brief word about that. Other times it seems the site software will occasionally just "eat" a thread.

Another non-OD moderator deleted the thread because of the offensive material inside it. I had nothing to do with it.

Just a reminder to try and keep things PG13 and below. This is directed at nobody in particular.

Consider it a litmus test of paremeters/boundries.

However, instead of deep-sixing the entire thread, I believe that in all fairness the individual who took it upon themselves to act as a censor may have done a better job if they had of erased the particular posts they found offensive.
And then disclose who they are-why they did what they did-ask everyone to keep it PG-13.

Not to split hairs..but it is ok for someone to title a thread like 'F*ck Paypal'.

Just sayin~

I had nothing to do with it Chilcutt. It brought out some worthwhile discussion. I didnt see anything highly offensive. It must just be a taboo in some western cultures. Most children on farms see stuff like was being discussed regularly.
I guess there are still people who think that meat comes from the supermarket !!

I went out into the country side once and I saw lots of polystyrene lying in hedges and some plastic wrapping too - my guess is that that is where slightly yellowy pinky grey chicken breasts grow. There was even the odd shopping trolley skulking in the undergrowth so it makes it easier for the "farmer" to push his "produce" to the supermarket. How else could it be?

There have been threads in the past with much worse things in them, I seem to remember.

...........and, therein lies the fundamental problem.

That moderator cannot understand and follow the rules of the forum and has his own set of beliefs whereby he determines what is acceptable and what is not.

Those beliefs are way beyond the generally accepted protocol of OD and he will ensure that OD is censured to his own personal satisfaction if you allow it.

We had ongoing issues with him and he never could grasp the fact that he was far too conservative to be meandering over here.

Furthermore, IMHO, NO thread should be deleted unless it advocates illegal behavior. If it becomes objectionable and should not continue on the path that it has taken, it is locked. All members then see the lock and realize that a certain boundary has been crossed. Deleting threads is very rarely a good idea. It leaves the membership with that queasy feeling that something is missing due to Big Brother watching..........but nobody quite knows what or why.

Wool - that's just a posh word for belly button fluff

Pasta does grow on trees

Spaghetti tree hoax - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dim sims - easy you'll find them in mobile phones

I must admit I've never seen a kid looking in the pantry for boiling water - though I did once send someone to go and get me a left handed screwdriver and a can of stripy paint.

Based on past threads I am guessing that someone posted something that needed to be deleted and a MOD thought "this is going to be nothing but trouble". Be happy for the run it had and let it go.

That thread spun off into the ditch right after aklim and bot started in on clk about, among other things, masturbating while at the zoo and getting/giving reach-arounds on a bull, stuff that had little or nothing to do with the origin of the thread.

But then the word masturbate was used several times in the thread and that in itsself will cause some of the shame-based crowd a bit of insecurity and feel like they need to take action.

Maybe they just couldn't handle it.
