I'm in need of a new toilet.

And I'm thinking of this specific model: Kohler numi. Any of you guys have any experience with this specific model?

Get one of those Japanese ones that squirt water and has a blow dryer. I thought about it when I remodeled my bathroom, but i was afraid I would never leave the room.

That's what I'm afraid of.

Not my style. I'd stick with American Standard.

Kohler QA/QC and Support is poor

Ever since Kohner moved their production South of the Border, their production AQ/QC has hit the dumper. I do a lot of Punch List inspections for a major interiors firm here in NY and they stopped using Kohler unless the client insists.

Why?

Casting flash is visible under the brushed nickle plating on $350 Bancroft line faucets. Do you think they might catch this in the time between casting and plating?

Pedastal sinks with mounting holes at ends at different heights - 1 1/4 " difference! Again BASIC Quality Control. Plus the sinks sit crooked on the pedistal because the sockets are improperly molded. Yet they shipped the product!

Toilet porcelain with water trap out of vertical alignment - 30 deg off to one side! Yet they actually delivered the unit and tried to back charge us for returning it!

I guess the Kohler family cares more about their fancy Millionaires Club Resort business than the products that made them billionaires!

We now spec American Standard and Moen and both Reps answer their cell phones 24/7! Kohler always rolled to Voice mail and they caklled back on their schedule (usually Tuesday on a Saturday call!).

The Numi is getting a lot of press, probably for being the most expensive, which will only spur Toto to include a full panel urinalysis lab in its next model. The warm air at the feet feature though, sounds nice.

Numi comes complete with a self-opening and closing lid so you never have to touch the toilet seat
One time I left the lid up and during the night, the wife went to the crapper and fell into the water. The words that came from her mouth probably caused the paint to blister. So, this would be a marriage saver

Would be painful; we have toilets with a shelf, so you can examine your poo and best of all no back splash! .

Humanure

weblife.org: Humanure Handbook: Chapter 2: Soiled Water

Quote:
The world is divided into two categories of people: those who **** in drinking water and those who don't. We in the western world are in the former class. We defecate in water, usually purified drinking water. After polluting the water with our body's excrements, we flush the once pure but now polluted water "away," meaning we probably don't know where it goes, nor do we care.
Don’t Flush That Poo Away: Composting Human Waste with the Humanure System | Planetsave

The term “humanure” refers to human waste which is recycled by methods of composting, and which can later be used for gardening or agricultural purposes
