What amazes me is the inefficiency of the existing arrangement and they want to add more? Keep in mind I live in the rural south so it does not take much to amaze me:).

I have had this conversation before on other proposed government spending programs. Instead of the convoluted "make a few people rich" approach, just give the money straight to the people affected.

Here they call it a jobs bill, why not just hire all fifteen million unemployed people? Unemployment ended, they pretend.

For all of the money allegedly spent to solve the Israeli/Palestinian problem you could have just bought Palestine outright for cash and saved a bunch of money and a bunch of lives, pain and suffering. Not what they were after, they pretend.

Its not all that different than all the work programs they had in the 30's. Problem is a lot of people are lazy and NFW will they take a hand shovel and build a road no matter what you pay them.
