Just had the 560 Detailed...

And boy do I see the difference! I haven't had it compounded or polished since I have owned it, but never neglected to protect the paint with wax and a good washing. Consequently, I opted to have it detailed up in Danbury, CT at Gotham Auto Works. One person completes the entire job on a car, and the quality of workmanship is spectacular. Ozoned the car over night, coupled with the shampoo and leather conditioning, she smells like a brand new car.

Anyways, pics after the jump. The rear quarter shot is my personal favorite; the polish on the taillights made me forget how much I hated the faded clear lens for the reverse.

Very nice.

The best thing about paying for a detail is the lack of effort on your part.

Thanks; I have been so dang busy lately that I haven't had the time to even vacuum off the floor mats, let alone thoroughly wash it Granted, they did a better job in 16 hours than I could have done in 16 days!

Don't feel bad. I just had my diesels detailed for the same reason. At least I stay on top of maintenance which is the most important thing. Once they're cleaned up it's easier to keep them that way.

Damm! That does look good. Do you mind divulging how much it cost?

Nothing better than getting in a freshly detailed car.

Thanks! I'm going to be completely forthright with you... I have not a damn clue as to what these wheels are!

I got them with the car, they are Made in Germany, have a KWA number, but other than that, not ONE manufacturer marking. ET11 and apparently period correct. Fulcrum and Hattie and I discussed them at a GTG once, and we're thinking some kind of Carat wheel, but who knows. Game plan is to acquire money, and then acquire Aero Is with that money

Was a whopping $350. Now, I know this is an exorbitant price to pay seemingly on aesthetics... But living in the rust belt, and having nil rust as is, I'm protecting my investment. At least, that's how I rationalized it to my wallet And to be completely honest, it isn't something you have to have done all the time; I can do the inbetween work, like hand wash and wax.

Yes that's steep. But considering what was done, and the infrequency of it, and the result, I'd say worth it if you can afford it. I noticed a couple of interior shots showed some of the leather starting to come unattached on the seats. Maybe time to take a needle and thread to those small spots to nip that in the bud.

I had fallen into some expendable cash and I figured it was worth it. Easier to keep up now anyways!

That's sort of my next plan... I haven't done any work to the skins because my intention is to replace the front seats with SEC seats for better support, and transfer my orthopedic bladders over. Slap some Gen II skins in the rear and I should be set. Problem is acquiring a good set of skins from a yard, or selling my soul to get new ones...
