I would like to know how many of those teleprompter jokes the right wingers throw at Obama are being read from teleprompters.

Personally, I have no problem with anyone who wants to use a teleprompter. The ability to address complex subjects off the top of one's head is impressive, but it doesn't have much to do with governing. I would rather hear remarks that have been thought out ahead of time.

This has been a bad day for Cain, and it's not even noon yet: Aides’ Corporation May Have Illegally Gotten Cain Campaign Off The Ground | TPMMuckraker The "aide" mentioned in the headline is Mark Block, the guy in the smoking ad that came out about a week ago.

I just heard the quotes... Just a typical politician courting a powerful base. Same old stunt and who knows what he REALLY believes. Nothing interesting about this guy.

Move along now...

As usual, it looks like how he's handling the problem will be his downfall more then the problem itself. He's now on record as saying two different things, yesterday he said that sexual harassment never happened and that no complaints were ever made, now he is saying that sexual harassment complaints were made, but that the women made them up and falsely accused him. I wonder if his comment releases these women from their confidentiality agreement, since he himself might have been bound by them and now he alleges material facts about the case. It's time for Cain to authorize the release of all the material on these cases. Between Rubio and Cain, it's been a bad week for Republican liars.

Ill give Cain one thing. He does seem to be consistent. If you are going to say that abortion is wrong, I think it would be hypocritical to say that a fetus concieved a certain way is not an important life. The only valid exception to me would be the life of the mother.

Having said that, I do not see how that position gains the support of any independent/undecided female voter.

As with Obama, anybody who doesn't like Cain is a racist.

??? Last week he was saying that abortions for rape or incest were ok. This week they're not. How is that consistent?

I meant that it is consistent for someone who does not believe in abortion. The cause of the pregnancy should not be important. Never meant to imply that he was consistent.

Ok, even on the consistency of the argument issue, I'm not sure it holds. Even if the fetus is a person, the mother is a person too and one of the important features of personhood in our society is that persons get to consent to whether they have sex or not. So if the fetus has the right not to be raped, so does the mother. If the fetus has the right to consent to reproduce, so does the mother. If she was raped, she did not consent to either sex or reproduction so as a person has a right for the state to protect her rights to make free choices in both these things. Hence the State must allow her to abort if she didn't consent to the sex.

It really all comes down to one sentence in the COTUS, in the 14th Amendment it states that to be a US citizen, one must be either naturally born or naturalized. The framers simply did not include fetuses (or would that be feti?) and the Pro-life movement has simply never garnered enough votes to pass a Constitutional amendment to negate that sentence. Argue it anyway you want, legally the person carrying the zygote has rights that supersede those of the zygote right there in black and white in the COTUS. Cain's position violates the US Constitution, in black and white and to the letter, yet I am sure like all right wingers, he'd be the first to proclaim how much in love he is with the document. What Cain and his pro-life pals advocate is simple fascism. They hold that The State's needs outweigh the inalienable rights of The Individual to pursue his or her own destiny without interference, and that The State's needs come before those rights, a complete contra position to Jefferson and a central tenet of all fascist movements.

It's fascism when applied to women but I'm not sure it's fascism across the board. Cain's own behavior seems to indicate he cherishes his right to ****.

An unsubstantiated allegation and you are ready to convict?
I seriously doubt that any of you who are engaged in this moral hand-wringing would have ever voted for the man in the first place. Most of you vigorously defended democrats who had far more serious allegations. Your objectivity, as well as your sincerity is questionable.
