Or at least had sufficient evidence to negate an accusation of actual malice, a standard that falls well short of proof that the allegations are true. I don't know how a publisher makes that decision. If they think they can sell a bunch of books, they might roll the dice, especially if they have insurance coverage.

Even if Palin had a viable slander case, she might do herself more harm than good by suing. The suit, including all the nasty allegations, would get more attention than that silly book.

If the facts alleged were true, yes it would get attention. If they were obviously and easily provable as false, she would get enormous sympathy, especially with the victimhood-obsessed GOP primary voter, who would love to see someone go after the supposedly evil liberal press. The real fact is that McGinnis quotes real people as stating these things happened, people who can testify.

Too bad Cain can't keep it in his pants. He actually had a chance at the primary a few months back.
