not for the meek or poor, at 17k a copy, 13+ pounds, and a single round @$40 each

notice the motorcycle helmet worn in anticipation of the recoil

I've shot both the Desert Eagle and the S&W .500. Recoil on the S&W is kept rather low by the weight and top venting. The DE, I have no desire to ever shoot it again. Too much for my likes.

Actually, it's a revolver not a pistol.

Though a pistol is often described as a handgun with an integral chamber and barrel, in common usage, it's a pistol.

I loved my DE which was a MKI 44 mag. 6 in barrel was removable and the 8 in with the scope all set up could drop in when I wanted to hunt. The one gun I sincerely regret selling off.

Common usage of rethoric doesn't change the fact that it is a revolver, not a pistol.
Stupidity is also a widespread element of common usage.

I'd rather go hunting with a compound bow & arrow then with a cannon like this.

Considering your overwhelming expertise in either field, it would be interesting to hear your report after operating one of those "pistols"

After shooting half a box thru the .41 magnum my hands and wrists plain ache. Makes shooting the .45 acp one handed a vacation.

I like the way a bipod and stock are suggested.... whats up next, a 1.00 cal derringer?

Of course it's a pistol. A revolver is a pistol so is an automatic or a muzzle loader. The term pistol means it's a handheld firearm and not a long gun.
