Looks like MB is positioning itself to have a sort of renaissance with solid, simple, and robust platforms.
I'm already pretty happy with the C250, except that they dropped the manual transmission. Wouldn't have traded for my GTI for that reason. |
Not too long ago, wasn't it also Mercedes "plan" to cease production of gasoline powered engines?
|
This + F1 announcement makes me a happy guy :)

No it gives me gas  it does taste good though, probably one of my favorite veggies. |
Nice, just as long as they don't drop the V12!
|
Swing axles can't be far behind - I wonder how the w108 would look with a Panorama roof?

inline sixes are awesome. Good news from MB!

Well, I have to admit I was getting ready to be skeptical when I saw the thread title.
But when I heard of the return of the straight six I thought YES! But then I read all the way to the end of the article... Renault/Nissan engines in Mercedes Benz's? That's the end of it for me. As far as I'm concerned Mercedes Benz no longer exists. I'll never spend a dime on a new Mercedes if they have become mongrolized in such a manner. - Peter. |
Oh Dr.Z why did you sign with Nissan/Renault..... Nissan is good the 2JZ is legendary but Renault had a hand in the PRV.... such a sad excuse of an engine....

well, at least those other, lesser germans (bavarians) still make an inline six.
