And the rich get richer.....
CBO study shows growing income disparity - Oct. 26, 2011
We were told by the GOP that giving the rich fat tax cuts would mean the economy would grow and that there would be jobs for everyone. Well, how did all that work out? The truth is, one segment of our society benefits more from our democratic systems, our roads and other governmental infrastructure, the education of our work force and yet they think that everyone else should pay for it, and not they, the one's who benefit the most. It is mind-numbingly illogical. In order for America to keep a strong Middle Class, we need tax revenue to provide free education to those who merit it so we can compete against those countries who currently do exactly that, producing engineers and scientists, while we produce hamburger flippers who think the Earth is 6,000 years old. We need a Middle Class that does not face the specter of being ruined by corrupt speculators and bankers. We need a Middle Class that does not have to face being ruined by enormous health care costs. Instead, we have essentially become a country governed by Wall Street, under a system of legalized bribery called "campaign finance". We have a system of government, where business and the incomes of these fat cats come first, instead of the needs of the people. Attend your local "Occupy" protest, it's time to act! Simply use Google, type in the word "Occupy" and then the name of the closest urban center. If people do not act, this country is headed for Third World status as our Middle Class evaporates, the numbers simply do not lie. America is going to be no different from any other second rate country, with two classes, the very rich, and the poor. They want it that way. Their leaders have no allegiance to "country", their countries are massive multi-national combines and conglomerates. They see the pot of cash held by the US Middle Class as theirs, they see the Social Security System as a ripe plum they need to pluck with market privatization schemes, and they are engineering an end it. And an end to the Middle Class, the group that stands in the way of their dream of a global market where Americans and Chinese peasants and the rest of the Third World are economically equal while they rule the world thru their massive corporations. We do indeed, stand at the cross roads. |

Hmmm...... So the top 2.5% are now providing 40% of the tax revenue. How is it that you see this to be unfair? Why is it that THEY should cough up more, so that others can have what you call "free" education? Is this not redistribution of wealth? |
Oh don't worry. I'm sure the rich will trickle down on the rest of us eventually.

And of course, your stats are based on falsehoods, while they may pay 40% of the income tax, the rest of us pay through the nose on local taxes, which is what they want. |

It's pretty sad to see the POTUS stirring up class warfare. In World War II everyone came together for a common cause. In the sixties, the Peace marches, drugs and a spoiled bunch of baby boomers began separating the country again. BO throws gasoline on this class warfare fire for his own political benefit. Very, VERY sad! |
Next on the agenda of the very rich, is to turn education into a profit center:
College prices up again as states slash budgets - US news - Education - msnbc.com It's a great scheme. Replace the educated American work force with Chinese and Indian technical workers, simply by making education so expensive only the rich can afford it. |

You really are incredibly inept when it comes to understanding the tax picture. Local people, assuming you are speaking of the lower wage earners CAN'T pay near as much tax because they don't make very much or buy very much. It is amazing how naive you are while all the while thinking that you're a genius. |
*** "...meanwhile...back at the Ranch..." ***
So the rich get richer (by working) and poor get lazier and poorer (word?) by standing on the corner and begging/mugging for change.
What's so hard to understand? Blaming someone for YOUR problems isn't any more different than some KKK-rally or Black-Panther GTG doing the same thing...just pick a group/ethnic-entity and have at it...black-vs-white, jew-vs-world, homi-bomber-vs-innocent victims, etc... Just turn on the TV/Radio and some 300+ folks (out of over 300-million) with their "whities-all-tighty" are screaming about how unfair the rules are that, for some unknown, unfathomable reason, the other 299,999,700+ folks still managed to follow. *PFFFT!* And tomorrow...life will be turned on its head and those heads will roll 'cause something wasn't done to their specifications? *PFFFT! PFFFT!* (Double *PFFFT!*) :D All I know is this...having the nar'-do-wells in charge of anything is a sure-fire way for NOTHING GOOD TO HAPPEN IN OUR LIFETIMES. Ignoring said nar'-do-wells (or hosing 'em down) will give the SILENT MAJORITY a good laugh. So...are we waiting for the temperatures to drop down to "close to freezing" before the hosings? |

I thought you were trying to make a case for your commie lib friends. ALL the people in congress are purchased REGARDLESS of their party. Make a meaningful point to support your case rather than one that goes to both sides. |

Everybody that doesn't think like Larry the Bible guy is a liberal/commie. Its the closeted Republican inside him crying for help.

Communism is wanting something for nothing. I've been reading threads in this forum all morning where the commies on here want something for nothing. If it's not education itself, it's wanting the loan contracts they signed voided. If it's not that then it's complaining because others are rich and they're not. Pretty clearly a communist viewpoint.
|
So when the Big Banks got our TARP money, they were communists?
