Must resist....

Drove one, and well.... I like it! Other than the apparent cheapness on some of the materials, it put a smile on my face. Handles better than my 55, but doesn't quite have the same feeling of "grunt" that the 55 has. Feels like it would do better on a track than my 55 would too!

Opinions?

Yeah, the 5.0's are 400 HP. I remember reading an article or column in Road & Track many years ago that talked about different cars that were fun to drive. They went down a list and commented on cars in detail about handling and such and then the last car on the fun to drive list was:

Any car with LOTS of power!

Give me an FT86 over this 3500+lb porker. Love that a "sporty" car weighs more than most luxury barges from 10-15 years ago.

I agree, the Mustang is overweight. Even so, it's 500 pounds lighter than the Camaro.

Just order a BOSS 302 it comes caged with multiple deletions and race ready suspension. Since your home town track will be Infinion a 3000# grunter would be fun.

Got enough double sided taped on vents on there?

Yeah it probably is faster around a track but you can't really even begin to compare that car to your 55.

I think the interior is pretty damn nice on the new ones actually. Straight forward, relatively few frills, shiny plastics or fake wood and the old nasty plastics American cars have been known for seems to be phased out these days. Only thing I didn't like much was the (Chinese built, *gasp*) gearbox, finnicky especially on 1-2 shift at full throttle.

Easy solution on the shift. Just get a manual and shift it yourself.

Yep.

Im looking at a 2013 Mustang GT 5.0/6-MT with a track pack. It comes with some nice brakes, recaro seats, and fancy wheels.

@tonkovich, Mustangs have been holding their value pretty well since the retro restyles. The older 4.6 300ish HP cars have dropped a bit but the newer 5.0s have good resale.
