I'm surprised he didn't have one with the Apple logo stamped on it. He was remarkably private for such a prominent and well-known person. I started reading his biography last night and it is fascinating. Walter Isaacson is a terrific biographer, had almost unlimited access to Jobs over the last two years of his life, and seems to have presented a very well-balanced view of his subject. It's hard to put down once you start reading it.

No plates are great, nothing for other people to call in if your ahem, going a bit quickly.

If I had as much money as he did I'd want a new car every 6 months to.

That is what I was thinking. The average jo's that I know can't afford to do this.

The leo's around here would stop a car like that with no plates.

Maybe he just made a nice donation to the local police charity every year.

Every half year a new SL AMG and they didn't give him the latest: a SL 63?

That's probably an old photo, I'm sure he had a 63.

I think he might have just had his lease rewritten every 6 months.

That, or just ran with no plates... A friend has been running dealer plates on his 03 MB since he bought it new, and has never been hassled....

There are recent pictures with Jobs and a SL55, where you can see he was already sick.

Maybe he liked the 55's.

He might have just had 2-3 of them and had Apple lease them to him in 6 month rotations.

Leasing actually makes sense when you make a ton of money, if your in the 33% tax bracket or whatever it is. $5k a month in leases isn't a terrible write off if you can get away with it.
