Score! Sortta (CL find)
Found some nice 195/65/15 tires and rims for a Benz on CL. Told the guy I would buy em. $100 seemed like a good deal.
Well, they are white. Through and through. Not some spray paint job on the visible side and it appears professionally done. Took them anyway. But white? |
pics?

Burnout!

Guess I can get some pics. They are the "standard" style on the W126. Part number on them starts 124.
|
If the part number starts with 124 they are 124 wheels (15 J 6,5 H2 ET 48 or 49?) and won't have the right offset for a 126. They'll probably fit but they'll sit deeper in the wheel wells. Isn't 195/65-15 a little skinny for a 126? Or do you plan them for another car.

I will get the full part number and some pics. They were apparently from a 190e. I hope off-set is not an issue, if it is I will just put them back on CL. |

Of course I had to pick the wheel that had the dirtiest back side. But here are pics. There are a few markings, I assume standard. Like the STI logo (at least I think its STI). Anyway, I will have to check the off-set now.

I can see "ET48"

Yup. What is the offset for my 560?
edit: 25mm is what I read. So based on these being 6.5" wide and stock on mine being 7", that puts things about 0.6" deeper inside. Not a whole lot. The narrower tire will help with that. So it seems they will work? Or is my math bad? |
W126 offset is 25mm on 7" wheels, 21.5mm on 6.5" wheels.
I calculate 0.7" deeper inboard. I'm sure they'll fit your car. Crank the steering over both ways to make sure the tires don't rub something pointy. Handling might suffer from narrower tires and narrower track but I doubt you'll be testing the limits of lateral adhesion this time of year. Sixto 87 300D |
