Are you ready for SEMA 2011?

I have a friend who is working a both at SEMA for his company and said he could get me tickets. I've been wanting to go to SEMA for years. Can't wait.

Ill post pictures while I am there if I can figure out how to link them on this phone. From what I can tell I have to upload them first then I can link them.

Im off to Vega boys and girls.

Due to personal constraints, I'll be missing the show for the first time in 15 years. I generally go to drum up business for my struggling off-road business. I fabricate custom bumpers, rock sliders, pre-runners and other off-road goodies. My current orders are low, but that's because I've focused my time and attentions to gaining my kids this year.

Next year is a whole new ball game.

Enjoy the show and take lots of pics...

Any advice for a SEMA virgin.

Yes, wear good fitting, comfortable shoes...you will be walking ALOT! There's over 2 million square feet to look at.

Make sure to have your credentials with you at all times...if you step out for a smoke and forget them inside, you're screwed. I made that mistake once, on the last day back in 2003...I won't do that again!

Hot Rod Lane, and the performance and racing sections are a must. You can easily get lost in the complete coolness of those areas.

Foose's booth is a must see...he will have one hell of a show for you.

I don't have my info with me to see who's going to be outside, but make sure you visit those areas as well. I had the opportunity to drive a H2 before it hit the market many years ago at the proving grounds.

The concept truck section and custom truck section is where I usually spend my first and/or second days. They have some totally off the wall ideas there that work, that it will blow your mind.

Have you chosen a hotel yet? I usually stay at the Circus Circus due to it's pricing, plus I know a few people there that aid me in getting cheaper, non advertised rates. Last year, I was comped my entire stay as a favor to a friend.

Watch your pockets...there are plenty of thieves there. Also, utilize the hotel's safe deposit box for your valuables.

SEMA would be cool, but Las Vegas itself?? God I hate that place.

Take a lot of pics and post here!

I hope you have a solid hookers and blow budget.

The wife wanted to surge a bit so we are at the Monty Carlo.

I need to figure how to up load pics. Is there a way to up load directly from a droid or do I need to upload to photobucket and then post from there? I have Facebook. Wonder if I can do it from there?

davidmash 10-31-2011 08:27 PM

I only see a? , does anyone else see a picture?

jplinville 11-01-2011 02:53 AM

Uploading to photobucket, then linking to the photo is how I do it.

Holy crap. Spent my first day at SEMA. Took a lot of pictures but they are on my camera and it will have to wait till I get home to post them.

This is by far the largest show of its kind I have ever been to. I never knew there were that many window film manufactures much less all the other stuff that is here. Its bloody amazing. The cars cover every taste imaginable. Rat rods to hot rods to trucks to.....?

Can't wait till tomorrow.

I want to go too!!!!

I thnk I want to go, or the first time.

I have a god friend and his wife that now life in North Vegas and he loves to go.

He and his wife were my best friends in San Francisco when I was married and living there and he had a W126 coupe, now he has another one and a 560SEL, al of them 1987's.

Sounds like a good road trip for the Red Plum, (just serviced today!) as the other Mercedes is in LA where it just got flatbedded it to get new engine put in, a 300 hp ECE euro one too! <--- pic's here):

I don't know how much SEMA tickets cost, but it sure sounds like fun. And I have never been there yet!

I hve a Valentine 1 radar detector, a cell phone charger, and the Garmin Sat Nav (all hooked up to a 3 way radio Shack splitter) he forced me to buy in '08 in N Las Vegas at best Buy ( a super decision!) the last time I drove to see him and his wife.

I think it is time to go again.

SEMA sounds like tons of fun and a great place for a wallet flush.

Rather do there than at those stupid casinos on the strip, or waste it on the hookers and blow..:D

WTF? It ALREADY started???!!:eek::confused:

omg I better get packing. I can drive to Reno and be there maybe by midnight tomorrow!!!

How many days to see it all?

davidmash 11-02-2011 01:38 AM

Jim.

Put the suit case away and put your keys back. This big is invitation only. You have to know a vendor or someone order to get a ticket. It is not open to The public. You cannot buy a ticket.

Seems like you could easy spend 3.days if you went up each aisle and looked at each vendor plus all the cars.

I have never seen any show this size. Never.

Sorry.
