But Aston-Martin is owned by Ford too!!!

I've been having enough trouble with one of my Benzs that I'm halfway considering replacing it. There's not much out there that grabs my fancy right now, though. I'm too frugal to spend for something like an E55. I'm kinda intrigued by the new Nissan Altima. It's decent looking, cheap, and fast. Might be an OK ride for a few years. I recently saw it evaluated on the 'Motorweek' TV show. They had a V6/5-speed drivetrain. Ran 0-60 in 5.9 seconds, quarter mile in 14.4/100MPH. Guess I'm also interested because a friend leased an Infiniti I30 about the same time I got my troublesome E300. My car has been in the shop 30some days. His has never been touched other than for oil changes...

Aston Martin is owned by Ford, too ?? I did not know that. Well what a shame, here goes this idea, too. Maybe that is why James Bond switched over to BMW. That explains it ...

next new toy

Lemme see here:

The ole Dodge is finally paid for and only has 82.5K miles on it. I'm gonna keep that one for a long time. It's been the best truck I've ever owned hands down.

The Sammy will be converted to diesel power soon, and fills the 4x4 requirement nicely. It only has about 76K on it.

The 240D is gonna be my weekend cruiser when it's finished getting fixed up.

The Saturn is the only vehicle that has fallen short of expectations. I'm weighnig either a VW Jetta TDI wagon, or a Toyota Prius gas/electric hybrid for daily commuting grind as a replacement for the Saturn by next winter.

Yap... Aston Martin is partially owned by Ford.... if you look at the steering wheels on V8 Vantage, they are exactly the same as the late 80's/early 90's mustang steering wheels w/air-bags....

No more new cars for me either! Im tired of the waste of money (depreciation) and the way i get treated at service shops. Example: 2000 Jeep Wrangler in for pinion seals replacements: Service asks, you need a full flush and fill on both of your differentials. At 24,000? I dont think so. Then when i tell them no, they baulk at doing the warranty work in the first place. I stand over that Jeep the rest of the visit, making sure they do it.

My next car: 1981-1985 300SD. Would love to find a deep brown or dark red one. Anyone?

I've just gotsa have a ragtop.....

Never wanted one until I drove the SLK rental for five glorious spring days in December... only in SC

No more new cars for me either! I've narrowed it down to a 99-00 CLK 430 Cab, a 98-99 SL500 or a 00-01 Boxster S.

I've always dreamed of a Porsche but couldn't afford one I liked until the Boxster. I think a Quartz Blue CLK430 cab is just hot. And the SL500 well, that's always been my idea of the class-car, you get points for style and elegance.

What a tough choice, any pro's and con's?

p.s. Subman have you owned a SLK32? That's a nice option what are your experiences with it?

Humm. Let's see.

Would love to have a '01 Subaru Impreza WRX.
Based on the rally car subaru has been using in Europe.
My brother got one and has said nothing but good things.
Other than that if I could find a 280SE in good shape.

Most likely is replacing the old van with a new one. Gotta keep
the wife happy.

A new Subaru Outback AWD. Hopefully a six cylinder, but the four will do if I have to.
