Ok, so which one of you guys did it?

"Mercedes-Benz mowing down serfs and the poor for 120 yrs."
memorable; My parents taught me not to play in the street. side walks are for people, streets are for cars unless you are looking to make a political statement. |
It would have been better press for the rich if it was a Ford.....
|
it was Skid Row Joe on his way to Omaha.
|
I figured it was Larry....
|
Walkin' in da street, stickin' it to da man!!
|
It was I.
I think. |
thats a pretty funny post title. :)
likely it was some poor old guy who couldnt work the GPS and only knew one way home, in the drivers defense, when surrounded by a lot of demonstrators and they start beating on the car, my first instinc would have been to get out too. |

Getting out of the car is a BAD MOVE; Why? because there is a very good chance the crowd would beat you blue then steal your car. There is some very interesting psycyhology that plays into crowds and crowd control - none of it good. Best to lock all the doors then make a slow U-turn while honking the horn and get out of there pronto! |

My plan for avoiding a vehicle take over by a walk up bystander has crossed from the whelm of "stupid to plan for" to "may need to use" in some areas of travel. Always prepared by leaving room to escape, and planning on engaging reverse, turning the wheel hard right, and accelerating at the first sign of aggression against my locked doors. Is the driver in the wrong? I dont think so. ~Nate |
That's a tough situation that could go bad fast, personally I think the best way would be to avoid it. Make a U turn before the crowed.
But if your forced to go through proceed slowly, don't make eye contact, lock the doors and keep the windows up. If it gets bad I'm flooring it and the people outside are on their own. Crowds are tough. |
Yes, avoiding the situation would have been the best route undoubtedly.

I read somewhere today that the Oakland Police were saying there were 10,000 protesters and 70 troublemakers. The biggest problem was that the troublemakers were using the other 9,930 folks for human shields.
