Changing headlamp bulbs in a renault

Good thing they don't sell that garbage here.

Some years ago, a viewer asked Pat Goss, of MotorWeek, if he could recommend buying a French car. Goss replied he thought it was best to live in France if one was to buy a French car.

53 seconds for the Golf. Not bad at all. It takes me a good five minutes to do one on a W123. The same job on my motorcycle is about a 30 minute job, because you have to pull the upper fairing off for access.

The Ninja 250 in my sig. I bought it as a starter bike in June. I'm to the point where I'd like something with a little (ok a lot) more power, but it does everything I need it to do, so I'll probably be hanging on to it for at least another riding season.

Renault Megane II Owners Club :: Changing the headlight bulb on your megane doesn't look THAT bad. A lot of new cars have taken me half an hourish to change lightbulbs. My Accord needs the airbox unbolted. Tradeoffs I guess. With older cars a simple job can take hours if you run into seized hardware or bubba-fixes from previous owners.
I bet if you have smallish hands (or a lady friend handy) you could just turn the wheel and not have to remove tire. |

Saw a bike about like yours on the salt flats a few years ago, stock bike. The guy set a record on it at about 99mph or so. |
Changing that Renault headlight bulb is basically the same as on a Datsun / Nissan 240Z / 260Z / 280Z except those cars had sealed beam headlights.
Lots of fun when the wheel well is packed with ice and snow and mud. Especially when the screws are rusted solid.... |
I think there are a few Seppo-market cars that need the front bumper removed to change the headlight bulb. At least Renault provided an access door.

Spark plug
One of my high school buddies had a Sunbeam Tiger in the late seventies and to get to the rear spark plugs you had to go through an access panel in the foot well.
Cool car, esp for high school days. |
