Sportsmanship. Looks like it still exists
The ladies from the Jacksonville (Fla.) Bolles highschool did the right thing. It is nice to know that some kids will do the right thing for the right reason without being compelled to do so. Gives me a bit of hope for the future.

I don't even see why there was a problem. If they knew it was a chip mixup and determined that the actual people who were supposed to run were the ones running then why didn't they just fix it right there and then?
I've handed out a lot of timing chips in ski races. Where it matters such as USSA points and FIS events, the athlete walks through a gate, two chips are put on each ankle, matched to their bib, and there's also backup timing at the finish line. Even then there are mistakes and that's why we use a finish line camera.

I went to school across the street from Bolles...
