Bought another Volvo 1983 242 Group A Turbo!

I traded the last 242 for the Bertone. I missed it and have been looking for one for weeks. I never thought that I would find a group A car, but I did. The only thing that I don't like about it is that it's an automatic, but I can always change that.

I have already fixed the driver's seat that was in poor condition. I need to install original speakers back in the door panel, install the proper quad square lights, and a couple of other things. This is the third 242 that I have owned, but, it's got a good body and something that is worth working with.

Did those get the B230FT or the older 2.1 turbo? 740 wagon with the B230FT was a lovely car to drive.

B21FT was stronger than the B230FT

Forged Cam Chaft vs Cast Camshaft. Better bearings, etc. B230 FT was nice but if you intend to drive a 242 Group A flathood like it is supposed to driven, you want the B21FT. Also the B21FT block can be bored out more than the B230FT. Install the Big Bore Mahle piston kit from IPD and that puppy becomes a Greyhound!

I have a set of IPD 25mm front/rear Swaybars and the Firewall to Strut tower braces plus a custom made Strut tower brace if you are inetrested.

I used to rally 240's back in the day...

Congrats on your turbo brick!!

The 242 was called the "Toonderbird" by the snarks at Car and Driver, as I recall. <------- Nevermind them.
