Whats best way to part out a car?

I'm trying to think how to do this...

So the only things I REALLY need to leave intact are the:

1) Steering + a Steering wheel
2) Springs
3) Shocks? <--- necessary?
4) A set of wheels

Everything else I can part out right? Then all I can do is roll it out of my side yard once I am done and have a local junkyard tow it away for me.

Any other ideas or tips on how to do this?

Considering parting out my 260E after I remove anything good from it since its just becoming an utter money pit.

I removed the entire rear subframe off my 300e. It is sitting on one of those 4 wheel carts. It moves pretty well in the garage.

I would not worry about it rolling. The car is worth more in scrap after you take all the good stuff out. A flatbed will pull it right out after you are done with it.

How can a 260E with 91K on it be becoming a money pit?

Easily. Its 20+ years old. Its much worse when you insist on everything working proper.

^ and that's my problem compounded by the fact the PO did nothing for maintenance. I'm guessing I have 4-5k to bring her up to scratch realistically + my time. Its just not worth it anymore.

Bad initial purchase, but the experience was great. Visually its great and it runs amazing (engine tranny minus leaks), its just EVERYTHING else.

I probably spent 10k on my 300e over the last 4ish years. In fact, I am sure the figure is conservative.

I still have no a/c, a cracked windshield, rust, and fading paint. My front end is going to need a couple of grand for the second time now.

You would be doing yourself a favor to just get rid of it as a whole, unless you want an entire garage full of parts that you will end up giving away or scrapping.

I still love my 300e, and I will probably drop another 10k in it before it rusts away in to oblivian. Working on that car is a hobby, and it brings me joy.

I have a ford fiesta to get me to work though.
