Ever had a car dropped during transport?

Just happened to me. How do you go about filing a claim?

Never had that problem, but if you're looking for a new transporter, I'll give a plug to Reliable Carriers. They used to transport all of the prototype vehicles from a member of the Big Three to and from the testing facility where I used to work. Enclosed transit and never a problem with them.

How bad is the damage?

Don't post this stuff! My 6.3 is being delivered tomorrow afternoon.

PS - The transporter's insurance will cover the damages.

Brian, I won't tell you about the nightmare I had unloading my 6.3 when I got it. If you don't have blocks, I'll put you in touch with the fellow who sold me mine. I think he has a number of spares.

We shall find out this afternoon! As it was when we got it, the suspension was working fine. We'll see if it's still working when they offload.

What on earth happened and who put the louvres in the bonnet? They're not standard are they?

(Sorry I'm often keen on the irrelevant)

Most shippers should have insurance to cover that sort of thing. My 300sd came close to doing that due to an incompetent shipper the first time, but luckily I ran over and stopped him before any damage. Sweet interceptor though!

Be absolutely SURE you supplement the claim to the Insurance Company with an added supplement for DIMINISHED VALUE included.

This case is a textbook example of when a diminished value added supplement should be paid, on a physical damage claim to a valuable collector vehicle like this one of yours.

I can only imagine your pain and anger right now. When AAA loaded my Gwagen a few months back I watched them like a hawk while they loaded it and on the drive down I refused to let them drive fas. (No way I was taking any chances with it!)

I filed a claim with the transport guys insurance, they should be sending an adjuster out shortly. I also crawled under the car today with a torch and checked the underside. The tubular frame rails appear in good shape and the gas tank and spare wheel well also look undamaged.

Good fortune.

Why would you use a torch when you could use a flashlight?
