For $14k that sounds like one hell of a buy. Miles are not bad on it either. Keep us posted JP.

Well...due to some screwed up kid operating the website, the Tahoe was actually a 2005 LT K 1500. It was nice enough, and we picked it up for $14k. The condition is in what I'd call very good, not perfect...minor scuffs in the clear will be buffed out in January or February by Matty.

It drives like a dream...plenty of power. It's a GM Certified Used Car, so it came with additional waranty covering it up to 95k miles. The 60k miles is accurate, and the Carfax report is clean and uneventful, other than showing when the dealer did the service.

I'll swap out the rims for a set from a TrailBlazer this summer, as these look horrible, IMHO. I'll also swap the radio out for something a bit better so I can hook my phone up to it and stream music.

See if the headlights on / key in the ignition chime / turn signal clicking sounds come from under the dash or through the radio speakers. If the latter, you will lose those sounds when you replace the head unit. You can find aftermarket devices that hook up to the factory wiring harness that replicate those sounds.

It is a Bose stereo and he will need the PAC interface to add an aftermarket stereo.

if you don't like driving with the daytime lights.grab the headlight knob and turn counterclockwise.it is spring loaded and will pop back.also in GM's infinite wisdom, the dual climate control only has one fan.this just ain't right.

Or press the dome light button 3x in and out for a total of 6 times to disable the DRL

Is it possible to add an AUX jack? I'd be happy if I could plug my phone in and go. I don't want to use the cassette adapter, since the sound quality isn't as clear, and it looks cheap.

gauge cluster motor failures
This is an easy fix if you are handy with a soldering iron. Do a google search for Chebby stepper motor replacement. You can purchase new stepper motors off of ebay for cheap.

Nice looking unit jp. What is that white stuff on the bumper?

Thanks. I'm actually waiting on the white stuff to start falling hard and deep.

Thanks, Derek. I did a few week's worth of research before posting my question here. I figured that if M-B folks said they were decent and could achieve high miles without major repairs, then I should listen

I don't know just how much off-roading this one will see. I may be willing to trailer the F-250 down for a weekend of fun on the trails, though!! My wife immediately asked me how long I'll have the 'Hoe before I start lifting it...I think I'll keep this one as stock as possible, Mainly due to the fact that my insurance company is still pissed at me. A few years ago I made a claim on my Durango when I was out wheeling with it, right after putting a lift and tires on it. One of the tires chewed up the wheel well when I broke an axle.

I'm thinking about making the Ford a full time off road toy. Doing so should keep me from ever having to get it to pass inspections.

I would have preferred something other than a shade of red and a light grey interior, but it is what it is. I was looking for blue or black with a darker interior, but with Christmas right around the corner and two scheduled trips I have to make, time wasn't really on my side this time.

I really liked the 2010 75th Diamond Edition Suburban they had on the lot, but $50K is still way too rich for my blood...

I'm happy with the purchase, and so is the wife.

Make sure the front suspension is tight. That's one of the achilles heels of these.
