Actually I thought it was quite good though to some extent, though also in poor taste.

Sorry to be such a grump - WW2 is kind of one of my favourite subjects I don't like to see it not done as well as it could.

Anything that attempts to make a joke out of WW2 is off !!
Some things need to be left off the joke list !!
Problem is there are far too few people now with first hand knowledge/experience of WW2.
As it is forgotten & the perpetrators forgiven there is an increased likely hood of another starting.

Those who don't know history are doomed to repeat it. Or something like that.

Mine too. And I agree that it could be done better, but this was better than I expected when I started reading it.

The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior .
It is a wonder that their has not been another world war since WW2.

Though many countries have been needing to spend as much on defense as they would be in a fully declared world war. The "war on terror" is that close to a world war, the main difference is no weapons of mass destruction yet.

Best just keep on praying ~ the other side does it several times a day !!!

I LOVE WW2 stuff, I swear I was in it in another life. The OP's link is funny... IMO.

Army,

I remember seeing bullet holes in the brick of a Church in Eindhoven. I saw them in many buildings in areas of Europe. It was quite sobering to see such things. Makes you wonder what it would have been like to be standing there when those bullets hit.

I'm guessing we've both been down the "wrong end" of a firing range listening to bullets hitting the sand?

The real feeling of being shot at is probably about 5% like that and then 95% of finding out what the true colour of adrenaline is...

Did you ever drive through Northern France over the WW1 battle fields? I encourage anyone to go there and imagine a tank coming towards you... I defy anyone not feel totally naked and powerless - there is nowhere and I mean nowhere to hide. You are totally ^$&^&*%ed.

No, I've never been to that part of France. I've only been from Saarbrucken to Paris, in and around Paris, and the South of France, Sophia(sp?) and around Monaco.

I have been to Nuremburgh and seen some of the ruins and saw various different war reminders in various places in Europe, mostly in Germany.

For me it is sobering to see such things.

I've got to make the effort and see more of Germany - I've totally missed the "see what Eastern Germany was like" boat. But I understand you can still buy a bit of the Berlin wall (honest mate!)...
