Macy's Employee Fired Over Transgender Shopper Mishap

Macy's
Quote:
Johnson filed a claim with the Federal Employment Commission claiming she was unfairly fired from Macy's because her religious beliefs prevent her from recognizing transgender people.

"There are no transgenders in the world," Johnson claimed. "A guy can dress up as a woman all he wants, that's still not going to make you a woman."

I hope Macy's fights this. I saw her in an interview on FOX. She kept on about her religious beliefs. Who cares? You work for Macy's. If you do not agree with their policy then find someone else who can assist this customer. Only once during the interview did she mention the 'safety' of the other women in the dressing room.

I am jewish by birth. If I were a strict orthodox jew could I file a claim against my company for selling pork? No, I either deal with or find a new job.

She only wants her job back if Macy's does not permit transgenders to use the 'wrong' dressing room. I hope if she does get her job back, every transgender person with in 100 miles of Macy's goes into try stuff on.

I support her decision. She has rights also.

If she was an otherwise good employee, I'd have taken her aside and said "this is our policy, you are not required to agree with it, but you are required to abide by it. If you can't in good conscience, there's the door. Refuse, and we'll open it FOR you."

No need to risk arrest as a "Peeping tom", simply come to Macy's dressed in drag and hang out in the women's dressing room area. I'm sure you'll get an eye full........

If an employee becomes suspicious of your peeping tom scheme and tells you to leave, simply scream discrimination and get them fired......this will allow you to continue your voyeurism.

So if one does not recognize transgender people, it must mean they don't exist right?

I wish it was that easy. There are several people I'd make disappear by refusing to recognize them.

If this is the same Macy's that sports a Communist Red star in it's logo, I'll vote with my checkbook and go someplace else.

Over in Guam, not recognizing transgender people happens quite a bit. Rule of thumb: If a girl is slim, wears a dress, and looks like she spent a lot of time on her makeup, it's probably a dude.

Actually two. Luckily neither one happened to me. I don't know if I can repeat them on this forum
