Only time can answer your question. Personally, I have my doubts.

The funniest thing about it all is how B.O. takes credit for getting out now, after failing in his negotiations with Iraq to get more time for the troops to stay put. That failed so he was stuck with GW's schedule, but then beat his chest to take credit for it. You've gotta' hand it to him. He's a great politician.

History is a funny thing. Remember when Reagan took "credit" for freeing the US hostages in Iran?

You mean after the Iranians refused to give them up to Jimmy Carter and waited for the very day that Reagan was inaugurated just to spit in Jimmy's eye?

Because Reagan had promised them weapons? I remember.

I will believe it is over when the commander in chief dresses up in a pressure suit and announces it in front of a 200' long banner spread on an aircraft carrier.....

oh, wait......

How I remember that day as I had a knee operation on that day. When I woke up in my room there was my folks and an aunt watching the news of Reagan's inauguration and the hostages release.

It will be a wonder, indeed, if somewhere further in history, the costs and sacrifices for the Iraq war, will ever be viewed as a noble and worthy effort. Historians will have much more information and details to examine compared to prior conflicts, so it could be a victim of having a "sharper lens" focused on it than other historical combat.

The end of the most shameful episode in US history, when we became no better than Nazis, invading an essentially defenseless nation on false pretenses the way Hitler invaded Poland, murdering innocent women and children in their beds with cruise missles, all in the name of a lie. The end of a crime against humanity. I curse the people who engineered this crime.

George Bush was the aw-shucks front man for the oil interests, a key con man in this fraud.
