No fricking way!

In Indiana we are way too sympathetic to animals to drop a live possum in a glass box to celebrate the new year.

Around here the folks try to find an elusive Democrat to put in the box!

I will be in hiding of course (at an undisclosed location!)

I'll be spending NYE wherever I land

The Clk Man 12-17-2011 12:55 PM

I will be spending the day giving 1/2 of my lottery winnings away. :D

Going to a NYE party which might be a first, still amateur night.

Oh well - it was worth a try...

Dee8go 12-18-2011 10:21 AM

I think they ought to drop a member of PETA, only from forty feet and really drop them rather than lowering them gently. And they should drop them on their fricking head!

Dee8go 12-18-2011 10:23 AM

PETA, just one more example of soft, liberal, over-indulgent people with way too much time on their hands and too much misguided do-goodism . . .

Disagree completely. I'm a dedicated carnivore, and I doubt PETA would approve of even my most humane animal husbandry practices. Never the less, I think they've pushed the mainstream animal protection organizations into more serious action and have been highly instrumental in bringing to light the inhumane ways our "food" is raised on factory farms. Most people will never join PETA, but more and more people are concerned about where their food comes from.
The lunatic fringe has it's uses.

Holy $h!t, we really have to be creative with our profanities if you can't even sneak by a province name! :D

To Mike's OP, to some friends' up the street. We alternate hosting. Our kids all get along well so they disappear while we old farts sit around and b.s. They're both great cooks so they supply the food and we supply the adult beverages and the desserts. We pick a food and beverage theme every year (Italian, Mexican, German, White Trash), but I haven't heard what it is yet this year.

The best part is that we're within walking distance so A)the wife and I don't need to worry about driving and B)we don't have to worry about the amateurs that populate the roadways that evening.
