Do you recognise this spider?

I'm not sure but it's huge.. to give you perspective, those are 5 gallon drums of lacquer thinner.

I found it in my 800 sq ft storage unit where I keep the cars that i'm not tinkering with,

I've been trying to clean the tanks in an old Jag that has not run in 25 years so there has been lots of fumes which may have bought him out of hiding.

My money is on a Wolf Spider.

Huge and mean. Very aggressive hunters, but pose no risk to humans; unless you provoke it, in which it's bite will cause mild discomfort, but it ain't no Black Widow or Brown Recluse bite.

I was bit by a Brown Recluse a few years ago and have the scar on my chest to prove it.

i know a spider bite can be ugly. Never imagined it could be as bad as the picture of that thumb though.

One of our daughters was kept in the hospital on IV medication after being bitten years ago for twenty four hours. The doctor said that spider bites can turn really ugly. Our local spiders are generally quite small.
