Two headed baby boy

Hmm,
I know some people want to weigh their opinion here,
Would surgery to make to make the child just like all the rest of us be taking a life?

Pretty much if they are both sentient and have individual brains with brain waves.

Two heads and one body?

Mark Twain wrote a story about them. One was a teetotaller and the other loved to drink. Only thing was when the one head drank he didn't get drunk the teetotaller did.

Do you have a llnk for the story?

Two functioning brains, two spinal cords. Yes, it would be taking a life.

A definate case of two heads not being better than one. There may arise serious ethical questions on this one. Surgeons would demand a court order at least to protect themselves if a request to correct the situation was made.

These type of problems used to be dealt with at birth years ago I understand. The deformed newborn just did not survive the delivery process.

Two functional heads on one body is going to cause real issues for both. So it is better undone as soon as possible. That assumes if it is possible to surgically do it.

As a practical matter there is a good chance both heads are not really viable.

Life might be pretty tough for the two headed person too. And buying clothes off the rack is hard enough for anybody not 'average' so for this person with two heads it would be really tough.

As a theoretical matter, I could see where two heads might work really well for problem solving if both were of normal intelligence.

We had a two headed calf born when I was about 5 years old. I remember clearly the second head didn't have any eyes. They butchered it right away.
