Exclamation Bodacious ad for '82 Rolls Royce on ebay.

This has the gents on a Rolls Royce forum, murmuring. It costs a mint to fix one of these.

This ebay listing was sent to me by my best friend (whose first Rolls Royce (an '89) lost a hubcap on the San Francisco bay bridge going to the pre purchase inspection, in Berkeley, where it was immediately squashed, by another passing car, discovered that ONE Rolls Royce hubcap costs $1,000. It was a lien sale car, a SF millionaire simply abandoned it at the shop after $12,000 or more of repairs he did not want to pay. My pal bought the car anyway and tossed thousands more into it,I think well over $13,000 worth, and for this, was rewarded with a blown head gasket, at which point he sold it to this mechanic for $5,000.

Here is the ad text for the PMC he sent me: PMC = PROPER Motor Car as their owners often call them:

***** Selling this for a friend. He doesn't have a computer or know how to operate anything on eBay. ***********

This car runs great! There are two holes in the brake lines. One is where the steel line in front of the driver side where the steel meets the rubber hose, on the steel side. The other is in the back on the passenger side. The car has 76,000 miles. I have taken good care of it. I am going to declare bankruptcy, and don't even have the money to pay a lawyer or court costs. The car is no where near mint, but it won't take much to restore it. The trunk was hit at one time, but while I was in prison someone towed and now the trunk won't close. I found the part that fell out.

I built a TV on to the dash with a clock, but I didn't damage or change the original wood cover for the dash so it can be restored to original if you want. There is a new stereo, which means I had to find all the negative wires for each speaker, since at the time the car was built, all four speakers have a common negative.
Paint has some checking, but not much.

The distributor vacuum advance does not work so I timed the car to run good on the freeway, but it runs a little rough at a light. The electric fan sensor on the thermostat does not work. It is supposed to comeo n when the engine gets over 2000 degrees. I have it hot wired. The part is about $150. Tires are bad.

Not meant to be torn apart for the parts to fix a wrecked one, but if that's what happens, oh well. I used to drive it every day. Kind of like the old joke, you really have to worry when your electrician shows up in a Rolls Royce. When I let it sit for more than a month, I always start it for a second or two, then shut it off, about five or six times to get the oil in the cylinders, then let it just idle for a while, never rev it.

There is a new air conditioner compressor, but I never had it refilled, it takes R12, now would be a good time to change it to R134.

My phone number is xxx-xxx-xxxx. The person who placed this ad did it as a favor since I don't have a computer, and can't get email. I am thinking about going to the library to learn how to do that. If I didn't have these financial problems, I would never sell this. It will take less than 1000 bucks if you have any mechanical skills at all, and that includes the advance.

Dont miss the front license plate frame on it!!

I couldn't tell if he was trying to be funny or serious.

In any case I won't be buying a rolls anytime soon.

One of my tenants has Rolls that is white with the upper body and roof painted a large metal flaked bright purple! He also has a 126 mercedes so I have yet to figure out his taste.
