2014 W205 4 Cylinder Engine by Nissan

The Japanese automaker has released more details on the upcoming four-cylinder engine, which will begin production in 2014 at its assembly plant in Decherd, Tennessee. The Mercedes-Benz four-cylinder will initially be used in C-Class cars assembled at Daimler’s plant in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. No details on the engine were provided, though the 2012 Mercedes-Benz C250 – which recently made its debut in the States – is powered by a 1.8-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder with 201 hp and 229 lb-ft of torque.

Ah, but Peter, I own a Mercedes that has a twincam cylinder head designed and cast by Cosworth Engineering . . it holds quite a bit of appeal for me.

Never understood the need for that particular marketing gimmick. Whatever the reason it's a little different than paying Mercedes prices for a Nissan engine.

Dont knock the brand post 140 body. Its just a C Class. They went down hill fast after 2007 anyways. Only good one they make now is the C Coupe.

BTW, deals with Nissan-Renault also mean that Daimler will supply a V-6 gas engine and two inline 4 cylinders (gas and diesel) for Infiniti in Europe. Infiniti will also be using the "universal" A/B Class chassis as the underpinning for a Infiniti small luxury car and the two will be collaborating on the electric versions of their micro car brands.

One of the factors at the heart of the Mexico decision would be Mercedes' MFA platform, which supports the A- and B-Class vehicles soon headed here: that platform is also expected to underpin the production Infiniti Etherea. And if Renault-Nissan CEO can be believed, then a great deal more sharing between the two firms is an eventuality, and further up the food chain at that. Ghosn is reported to have said last year, "You'd be very surprised if in five or six years that Mercedes and Renault-Nissan had only cooperated on small cars."

A & B Class May Be Built In Mexico
