how to ship a 95# transmission?

I have this lovely 52 cadillac stick transmission I am selling. The fellow will want it shipped to CA. I see the usps will not take anything over 80#.

What are my options on this?

obviously trucking it will work.

what about ups?

If you can not exceed 100 pounds, GREYHOUND. I bought a MB transmission from a guy in California and had it shipped to South Carolina. Wrap it good, but it made it safe and sound !!! Sure beat trucking rates of $250+

Forward Air works if you are near one of their depots.

Fedex ground will be quite good on costs. You'll need to ship it to a commercial location at that weight.

I shipped a diff to CA for about $75.00. It was similar in weight.

I shipped a motorcycle using U-ship. Sent a larger transmission than yours, 4R400, using Fedex Freight a few years ago. I did pick it up from the terminal with my Excursion although the trans was shot, went back to get it fixed, boxed up the broken one and dropped it off at Fedex Freight terminal.

Yup greyhound--but you need to check if the customers closest depot does package express--some smaller ones dont. I sent an 84 SD tranz to san diago and had to do a SupeR lightweighT pallet to squeek in at 149.5 lbs their limit is 150
