It's mined in various places and sold as very pricey organic fertilizer. Real high in nitrates, or nitrites, or something. That's why it was used in gunpowder too.

To bad you don't live in DC with that rat problem. There the pest control people would spend thousands to round them up in family groups, (yes, that's my mom over their) and send them all over to Virginia. OH, you said bats, I thought you said rats. Sorry!
