Newt's infidelity will make him a good prez

You can't make this schlit up no matter how hard you try. Fortunately, we have Foks News to do it for us. Some shrink, a Dr. "Ablow" who shills for Foks, claims Newt's attractiveness to the ladies will make him a strong president.

I want to be coldly analytical, not moralize, here. I want to tell you what Mr. Gingrich’s behavior could mean for the country, not for the future of his current marriage. So, here’s what one interested in making America stronger can reasonably conclude—psychologically—from Mr. Gingrich’s behavior during his three marriages:
1) Three women have met Mr. Gingrich and been so moved by his emotional energy and intellect that they decided they wanted to spend the rest of their lives with him.
2) Two of these women felt this way even though Mr. Gingrich was already married.
3 ) One of them felt this way even though Mr. Gingrich was already married for the second time, was not exactly her equal in the looks department and had a wife (Marianne) who wanted to make his life without her as painful as possible.
Conclusion: When three women want to sign on for life with a man who is now running for president, I worry more about whether we’ll be clamoring for a third Gingrich term, not whether we’ll want to let him go after one.

Only FOX could make adultery an admirable quality. That's some funny stuff right there. I would think most women reading that would be highly insulted.

Well, he WAS polite enough to actually ask his wife for permission. Unlike a certain other president whom we knew and loved.

Oh NO. Not all of them.

The gold diggerz out there, a HIGHLY unendangered species, would be nodding their heads in SOLEMN agreement.

It's all about the MONEY. They LOVE it.

UTTERLY cynical people say,

"Women are whores.

Men are their customers."

Newt made millions and millions of dollarz.

Quod Erat Demonstrandum.

That's funny...AFAIK, #2 didn't know about #3 until the question of an open marriage was asked.

To me, that sounds more like a warning - that Newt is a Jim Jones-type psycopath that will continually be able to con people into taking another swig of kool-aid, no matter the crap he's pulled before.

You have to ask about the smarts of #2 and #3. #2 acted surprised when Newt, the man she had an affair with when he was married, was having another affair when he was married. #3 knew about #1 and #1. The author supposes that the average woman has the same intelligence of #2 and #3.

It occurs to me that you know you have a problem when you opponents need to designate numbers to your concubine in order to keep it straight and allow people to follow along.

Since you are into splitting hairs in looking for a way to defend the scumbag, the way I thought it came down was #2 found out about #3 and then Newty asked for an open marriage.

I've read enough of Keith Ablow's columns to know that he is absolutely bat**** crazy. I still read him sometimes for entertainment, but I would never take anything he writes seriously nor would I advise anyone else to do so.

I've never read any of his stuff before but I was left with that impression from this one piece. I wonder what kind of advice his life coaches give.

Seems like its the cart before the horse...a lot of politicians get in trouble because they are power hungry and its just another way to exert power. I would consider Newt's manipulative demeanor ("charm") to be a negative.

It's very sad to read such babble. Newts personal life is a shambles. Wouldn't give you fifteen cents for it.

Even with all this baggage, as a Pres, he would be about a hundred times better than what we're currently stuck with. And about a thousand times better than what we will be stuck with after B.O. I emboldened with a second term.

God help us all.

Probably wise not to try to defend Newt on a personal level. That's a really tough case to make. On the policy side, LarryB, what is it that you like about Newt? Is it his support for a public option?
Quote:
...The former congressman from Georgia has been on record for nearly two decades as supporting a requirement to purchase health insurance.

During the interview, Gregory played a 1993 clip in which Gingrich said, “I am for people, individuals — exactly like automobile insurance — individuals having health insurance and being required to have health insurance.”

During a 2006 speech to the Greater Detroit Area Health Council, the Detroit Free Press reported that he advocated that “Americans over a certain income level to buy health insurance or post a bond.”

As recent as in a 2007 op-ed in The Des Moines Register, Gingrich wrote that an "Personal responsibility extends to the purchase of health insurance. Citizens should not be able to cheat their neighbors by not buying insurance, particularly when they can afford it, and expect others to pay for their care when they need it.”

He added that an “individual mandate is an acceptable option only when the larger health care system has been fundamentally changed,” since it would be “unjust” to impose the requirement in a “broken and dysfunctional system." ...

Newt Gingrich walks back health care mandate support - Kendra Marr - POLITICO.com
Or are you persuaded by his flip-flop on that position?
