Carpeting, stone, proffessional, whatever floats your boat.
Marble, not too bad really... materials don't cost a ridiculous amount for marble... I've done lots of marble work in my house, and its really not too bad. The saw blade for the wet saw is the killer, at over $100 a pop... I've been trhougha few before. Either way, if I were to do marble, it would be a honed finish, and I'd have it sealed with a clear industrial coating. hehe But in all seriousness, I like Your Idea of the pro one G-benz... carpeting is cool and all, but the professional coating sounds like the way to go for longetivity.
